เป็นคำที่ใช้ในภาษาพูด อย่างไม่ทางการ หรือ informal

-something that you say in order to tell someone you do not think something they have said is serious because it is not likely to be true or to happen

เราใช้เพราะ เราคิดว่าไม่มีทางเกิดขึ้นได้ เวลาพูดแฝงอารมณ์(ทางลบ)นิดหน่อย

เข้าทำนอง พูดเป็นเล่น! (ฝันไปเหอะ)

'Did your husband get you a present, then?'

'You must be joking! He didn't even remember it was my birthday.'

เราใช้แบบไม่เป็นทางการเหมือนกัน (informal) ใช้เพราะแสดงความประหลาดใจในสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นแล้ว หรือสิ่งที่คู่สนทนาบอกเราว่า

"มันเกิดขึ้น"(แล้ว)
