ระหว่างเวลา ๑๐.๔๕-๑๒.๔๕ น. ดิฉันเข้าฟัง Diabetes Café หัวข้อ How to use new media and Web 3.0 for advocacy ซึ่งมี ๔ เรื่อง ดิฉันเข้าฟังเพราะสนใจเรื่อง social network เผื่อว่าจะนำความรู้มาใช้ในเครือข่ายฯ แต่ก็เหมือนเดิมคือจดบันทึกได้บางส่วน ตั้งใจจะติดตามศึกษาเพิ่มเติมจาก website ที่วิทยากรแจ้งไว้

GDS
o ถามคนที่ทำเรื่อง diabetes care เกี่ยวกับการรับรู้ real situation, achievements, barriers และ challenges
o วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลข้างต้นในลักษณะ standardized comparable way
o รายงานเป็นรายปีถึงคุณภาพของ diabetes care และ degree of implementation National Diabetes Plans world wide
o กระตุ้น stakeholders และ national governments ให้ engage the implementation of National Diabetes Plans
o ปรับปรุง situation สำหรับผู้เป็นเบาหวานให้ดีขึ้น
GDS ต้องการที่จะ
o Describe the current situation in diabetes care
o Identify deficits in diabetes care
o Provide information for policy makers
o Provide an international ranking of countries according to their quality of diabetes care
o Show the temporal developments in diabetes care
o Improve the care for people with diabetes
Methodology ของ GDS จะมี standardized set of questions ซึ่ง represent คุณภาพของ diabetes care (คำถามยังไม่ final ได้มาจาก volunteers) ให้ stakeholders ในทุก areas ของ diabetes care ตอบทางอินเทอร์เน็ตปีละครั้ง ใช้เวลาไม่กี่นาที จะมี e-mail เชิญประมาณเดือนกันยายน/ตุลาคม ข้อมูลที่ได้จะนำเสนอต่อ stakeholders บรรดา volunteers สามารถนำไปใช้ได้ฟรี

ผลจะบอกว่าประเทศไหนดีมากน้อยเพียงใด เชิญชวนให้ register as GDS volunteer แสดงภาพให้เห็นว่ามีคนจากประเทศไหน registered แล้วบ้าง ผลของการ survey= advocacy เมื่อนักการเมืองเห็นผลจะนำไปสู่การ improve situation
