Abstract
The purpose of this study were to; 1) Develop the efficiency of a Learning cell of Prathomsuksa five instructional package for arithmetic fraction calculation as the standard criterion of 80/80, 2) Compare the students' learning achievement of arithmetic on fraction calculation of Prathomsuksa five during teaching toward the utilization of developed learning cell and general teaching. 3) Compare students’ attitude before and after studying toward the utilization of developed learning cell for arithmetic fraction calculation.
By simple random sampling technique, the samples of this research consisted of two classes of Prathomsuksa five students from Samakkeevitayakarn ( Ban Pranetra Public School ) in the first semester academic year 2008 under municipality of Nan. Sixty two students were the sample of group one and another one class was the controlled group.
The research instruments were ; 1) Twenty-seven sets of developed learning cell; five developed learning cell instruction packages for arithmetic fraction divided into 13 sets and five developed learning cells for arithmetic fraction calculation divided into 14 sets, 2) Learning achievement test of arithmetic for fraction calculation of Prathomsuksa five, and 3) Attitude test before and after studying arithmetic toward utilization of developed learning cells for fraction calculation of first semester students of Prathomsuksa five academic year 2008.
The statistic employed for data analysis was mean, variation, and paired t-test value.
The results of this study revealed as the following:
1) The efficiency of the developed learning cell instructional package for arithmetic fraction calculation of Prathomsuksa five had the outcomes as 85.58/86.94 as the standard criterion of 80/80.
2) The students’ achievement attained by using the developed learning cell package of fraction calculation for Prathomsuksa five was significantly different at the .05 level, that is, the mean score of the posttest was higher than those of the pretest.
3) The students’ attitude for arithmetic toward the application of the learning cell package for fraction calculation for Prathomsuksa five was significantly different at the .05 level, that is, the mean score of the posttest was higher than those of the pretest.
