Mission, primary activities and annual budget of the organization
Principle
Songkhla is a large province, located in the Southern part of Thailand. It's social capital based on Thai local knowledge which comes from the ancestors attempting to establish the city, and Thai modern knowledge from trade development, travel industry and industrialization in the province. People intend to make merit and in the same time it creates giving habit. Giving or Sharing Culture unknowingly becomes the main activity throughout the society. For example, making merit and donating money to charity or temple. Noticeably, most of the donations go to the poor just like the idea of social welfare. However, the community in general has no information on donating things, money, strength and human intelligence to solve the community problems or improve community services
Therefore, the Songkhla Community Foundation has been established. It aims to coordinate and manage the fund, in order to be used in social development and improve the quality of life based on its local organization. The Songkhla Community Foundation tries to create a people's participation process to share responsibility with community and to develop their own hometown. People in the community may create the fund raiser activity, supported by their own budget (capital).
Vision: To be a corporate that gives people, organization and groups' opportunity to think, do and develop the Songkhla province together.
Mission
1.To manage knowledge in Songkhla community development
2.To co-operate with people, community organizations, private enterprise networks, and government to do activities relating to commonwealth
3.To raise fund within the province and outside the organization to support public benefit activities.
4.To give opportunity, support the development of people, and the workers to develop the idea, skill, and experience in community development.
The Songkhla Community Foundation Registration is done on March 4, 2009, currently in the start up of the activities in the Foundation.
Activity
1) Social Mapping period 1 and 2 Exploring the potential, demand, learning exchange/ and create people's participation with partners in association / foundation / public charity organization/ Community or civil society/ Party or private sector or businessmen.
* Already created a Social Mapping period 1.
2) Cooperating with Network of Foundations, Public sector, educational institutions, government sector, the local leaders, and the public to create human resources development plan for Songkhla province as this plan would shed some light on the direction for grant making in the future.
3) Raising fund in various forms from the central government, Local government sector, the municipal and non-profit organization in the country and abroad, and also from individuals.
4) Distributing funds and create menu or sub fund to support the urgent demand, including funds for education, Fund for Children and Youth, Environment Fund, elderly Fund, Fund of Disabled & Special Needs, Media Fund and also disaster fund.
5) Creating a volunteer team to help develop social and the working team including media team, marketing team, and fund raising team.
6) Sharing more knowledge to parties in order to enhance the potentiality of this non-profit organization.
7) Learning together with all the foundations and taking the study trip in the country and abroad.
8) Administrating the Executive Office
9) Communicating with the Public through various media including the Foundation's website (Thai / English) and brochure.

Target area : Songkhla province
Songkhla Province is located on the East in the Southern part of Thailand. The area is approximately 7,393.889 square kilometers or 4,621,180 rai. It is the seventy-seventh largest province in the country and third largest of southern province with the population of 1,300,000 people.
Central Administrative Divisions:
It composed of the central government that establishes 223 local organizations. There are four public sectors and private sectors.
District Administrative Divisions is subdivided to two levels.
Provincial level consists of 29 provincial government agencies.
District level includes 1,022 villages, 16 districts and 124 districts.
Local Administrative Divisions consists of
one Provincial Administration of Municipal Administration and 34 municipal and 106 Tambon administrative.
*Social Capital includes people, social network, and Environment Resources, Culture / tradition and Thai knowledge
*Geography includes mountain, river, landscape, forests, coastal plains in the lake and high seas
*It has been a multicultural ethnic society for so long. Population in the province have mixed professional group like, Social Groups, Culture Groups at different wealth levels; lower, higher and middle class in economic terms. There is also variety of ethnic and religious group.
Target group
1.Public organizations network (Association, Foundation in the province) 200 organizations.
2.Representatives of government sector, local sector, academic sector, media and public sector 300 individuals.
3.Beneficiaries from the work of the Community Foundation and Network are children and elderly people and young women and disabilities in 16 districts in Songkhla province. 10,000-100,000 people per year.
