Outstanding Temple

Wat Preng Ratbumrung

                This ancient temple was built in 1837, by the inhabitants of Mon origin. Its fomer name was “Wat Mon” or “Wat Hongsa”, located in Ban Kolng Preng, Preng district. The front of the temple is close to Prwet Burirom canal while its rear is close to main road, therefore, it accessible for both land and water transportations. Inside of  the temple, there are many interesting old building, especially a beautifully decorated Wood carving on the temple’s gable. Later, people have renovated and developed the temple and changed its name to Wat Preng Ratbumrung since there were many Preng trees in the temple’s area. Simultaneous, the temple has opened  a teaching course of dharma for monks and novices. And also support national education by making a requisition for municipal school to the government in the honor of special occasion of royal monastery granted on August 10, 1948.

 

Wat Mongkol Kothawas

                This temple was once the residence of Luang Pho Pan, a famous monk in the field of meditation in the reign of King Rama V. He was developed the temple, ill it became the important temple of Bang Bo district. Moreover, the area in front of the temple is closed to Dan canal and a good place for recreation. The temple is also adjacent to Klong Dan Market.

 

 

Wat Bang Phli Noi

                People give strong faith to this temple. It is located at Bang Phli Noi sub-district. The attraction in this temple is a wild life zoo features a variety of fascinating exhibits with rarely seen animals. And a treasure collections of the old days used, showing in the antique museum such asparaffin lantern, clock, bowl, clay pot etc. Achan Chim, the temple’s abbot who has been collecting all those artifacts for years. This is one of a good place of education.
