Paying Homage to Luang Paw Paan

This festival is a very well – Know and a joyous annual festival celebrated by the local people in the Bang Bo district. This festival is held annually inorder to pay Homage to the Luang Paw Paan image. Large numbers of Buddhist pilgrims come to Wat Mongkol Khothawas for the same reason.
Every years, the festival takes place and is celebrated for three days and three nights. Luang Paw Paan festival is held on 5th -7th day of the waxing moon of the 12th lunar month. On the first day of the festival, a boat with Luang Paw Paan’s image sails down the Peak Ka Canal to Wat Mongkol Khothawas.
After making merit, people can enjoy folk entertainment such as Thai dance (Likay), theater performances of folk music, and shoping local products (OTOP) at the handicraft bazaar.
Boat Race
Samutprakarn is located at the mouth of the Cho Phraya River, it flows past Samutprakarn province along 21 kilometers. Its land is a flat basic with countless canals. At the time, Samutprakarn was accessible only by waterway and most of the families had boats.
Samutprakarn locals, after merit making at the end of the important Buddhist Day, such as Okpunsa Day or Tak Bat Devo Day , rowed their boats and sang happily along the river or canal with high tide.
Phrapradaeng boat race is held on the 4th day of the waning moon of the 11th lunar month. They race in front of the district hall. The Chao Phraya River is the venue.
Bang Boboat rece held on the 9th day of the waxing moon of the 12th lunar month.
They race in front of Bang Bo, town hall. The Samrong Canal is the venue.
Phrasamutchedi Festival both race is held on the 8th day of the waning moon of the 11th lunar month. They race in front of Samutprakarn provincial hall. The Chao Phaya River is the venue.
Bang Phli boat race is held on the 14th day of the waxing moon of the 11th lunar month. They race in front of Wat Bang phli Yai Nai. The Samrong Canal is the venue.
Sakhla boat racre is held on the 2nd day of the waning moon of the 11th lunar month. They race in front of Wat Sakhla, Tambon Naklua, Phrasmutchedi District. The Sakhla Canal is the venue.
Put Flower in the Bowl Festival
Put Flower in the Bowl Festival is the festival that locals of Preng sub-district run every the end of Buddhist lent day each year at Wat Preng Ratbumrung. The festival starts approximately at 6.30 am. with the “Tod Pha Pa” (leave offerings for the priests) rite. People will bring fruits and foods in order to give to monks. The next rite is giving flower with joss sticks and candles to monk. The line of more than thirty monks will walk from sermon hall in a monastery leading by the Buddha image on the royal chariot. Monks will receive flowers from people and pay homage to the principle Buddha image in the hall of temple. Then, after monks go back and receive dried food first, and receive fresh foods as their lunch from people again, the festival is completed.
