Meditation Practicing with Standing,Walking, and Reclinding
The purpose of practicing
In order to change the position from sitting for a long time; so, we should stand and walk to circulate the blood and release the muscle. The reclining meditation is to sleep with awareness and waking up with freshness.
Standing Meditation
From the sitting meditation, we stand up with opening the gap of two legs about a foot width. Look down about 45 degree angle from the level of the eyes. If open the eyes, you should make a half-closed eyes, right hand palm up over the left one, right index finger touch the left thump and leaves two hands downward until felling comfortable. Imagine the clear crystal-ball is inside the center of stomach and at the same time saying the mantra “Samma-Arahang” as long as you like. It might be 10 minutes or more. Keep repeating the mantra and visualizing the crystal-ball all the time.
Walking Meditation
Finding a clean and quiet place and the light should not come from behind or in front the body .So, when we walk, the shadow of ourselves will not impede our eyes. Regularly, around trip of walking should be 40-50 paces. But if cannot, 20-25 paces is fine.Start with standing position that means opening the gap of two legs about a foot width. Look down about 45 degree angle from the level of the eyes. Right hand palm up over the left one, right index finger touch the left thump and leaves two hands downward until feeling comfortable. Imagine the clear crystal-ball is inside the center of stomach and at the same time saying the mantra “Samma-Arahang”. Start walking with the right leg at the same tempo to the end of the line. When we are at the end, we have to turn to the right and walk back to the first start point. Keep on walking for as long as you like and saying silently “ Samam-Arahang” and visualize the clear crystal ball all the time. It may take about 20 -30 mintutes of walking.
Reclining Meditation
When we are tired of sitting, standing and walking meditation that we have practiced for a long time; so, we need to rest. Reclining is the best way of resting by lay down to the right side of your body is on the floor. Your right palm keep on right cheek and right elbow touch the floor. You may use the pillow under your right arm. Then, imagine the clear crystal-ball is inside the center of stomach and at the same time saying the mantra “Samma-Arahang…” You should time when you expect to wake up and you will feel that you can wake up at the time you want.
