What is that 'herb' in the first picture? Is it a 'pine' tree?

I can see ยายธี and a หนุ่มเมืิองเพชร(?) talking while looking away from a big fish pond. What are the 'white' patches on the bank (behind ยายธี)? Broken down (degradable) poly(plastic) bags? If that what they are I wonder how much plastic is in the fish in the pond (on the market. in our -human- food chain)?
