(๑) ชื่อพรรณไม้ ๒ ชนิดในสกุล Stemona วงศ์ Stemonaceae ชนิด S. collinsae Craib เป็นไม้เถาล้มลุก, กะเพียดช้าง หรือ ปงช้าง ก็เรียก; ชนิด S. tuberosa Lour. เป็นไม้ล้มลุก ต้นตั้งตรง ขึ้นเป็นกอเตี้ย, กะเพียด หรือ กะเพียดหนู ก็เรียก, ทั้ง ๒ ชนิดนี้มีรากอวบคล้ายรากกระชาย ใช้เป็นยาฆ่าแมลงและทํายาพอกแผลกําจัดหนอน.
