ถวายสัตย์ปฏิญาณ

ปฏิญาณ ปะติยาน ก. ให้คำมั่นสัญญา โดยมากมักเป็นไปตามแบบพิธี. [พจนานุกรม ฉบับราชบัณฑิตยสถาน พ.ศ.๒๕๕๔] 

Thailand: “ข้าพระพุทธเจ้า (ชื่อผู้ปฏิญาณ) ขอถวายสัตย์ปฏิญาณว่า ข้าพระพุทธเจ้าจะจงรักภักดีต่อพระมหากษัตริย์ และจะปฏิบัติหน้าที่ด้วยความซื่อสัตย์สุจริต เพื่อประโยชน์ของประเทศและประชาชน ทั้งจะรักษาไว้และปฏิบัติตามซึ่งรัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทยทุกประการ” 

USA: "I do solemnly swear* that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

UK: "I, (name), do swear* that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles the Third, His heirs and successors according to law. So help me God!".

France: Unlike many other countries, there is no oath of office (for French President).
