เมื่อวันที่ 10 ตุลาคม 2565 สำนักพิมพ์ Elsevier ได้ตีพิมพ์รายงานรายชื่อนักวิทยาศาสตร์สุดยอด 2% ของโลก (World’s Top 2% Scientists) จัดทำโดย John P.A. Ioannidis แห่ง Stanford University ภายใต้ชื่อรายงาน September 2022 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” ที่ https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw?fbclid=IwAR3DZrD_qink79OURs6rEPQuukBp2V6waDCbkOWvOGSRJYNKV2rs7vx5dvc

Ioannidis แห่ง Stanford University ข้างต้น ณ ที่นี้จึงเป็นการเสนอรายชื่อนักวิทยาศาสตร์ในประเทศไทย ระดับ Top 2% ของโลก จากไฟล์หลักในรายงานข้างต้น คือ Tabler_1_Authors_career_2021 (222 คน) กับ Table_1_Authors_singleyr_2021 ประกอบกัน แต่ไม่ได้แยกแยะว่าใครเป็น “career scientist” ที่มีอันดับ9ต่อเนื่องมาก่อนหน้าปี ค.ศ. 2021 หรือ ใครเพิ่งเป็น Top 2% scientist ของโลกในปีนี้ แต่รายชื่อสถาบัน/หน่วยงาน ได้เรียงตามลำดับอันดับของ “นักวิทยาศาสตร์อันดับดีที่สุด” ของหน่วยงานนั้นๆ (ยกเว้นผู้ที่มีสังกัดไม่ชัดเจน) ดังต่อไปนี้
