The Western Metaphysics 1

The  Western Metaphysics 1

By. Uthai Eksaphang

4. Anaxagoras, B.C. 500-428

He was born in IONIA, where he lived in Athens.

They say the sun is a red fire stone. The sun is bigger than the Greek empire. The moon is what looks like the earth.

The moon is reflected from the sun.

Anazagoras metaphysics

He proposed two ideas:

1. Change

He said there are many fundamental things in life. The basic life cannot be attenuated such as color, smell, temperature, etc.

He says change is a constant manifestation.

Likewise, society has changed like this. The government has changed as well.

2. Nous

He said that there is one thing as the source of power. This is the one that brings order to the universe. What is the source of power is Nous.

What is Nous ..?

Nous is a separate independence from matter.

Nous is similar to what drives the Pathom Mun. (First Mover)

Nous is similar to what is called life force.

5. Pythagoras, B.C. 582-507

He was born in Samos in Greece.

He was the first to call himself a philosopher.

He was a tourist to the eastern countries, especially Egypt.

Metaphysics of pythagoras

He is interested in numbers. They say quantity determines the quality of the sample. The weight of a particle determines the properties of different elements.

They say all things are numbers. The universe is a perfect harmony. This combination is the relationship of numbers.

He said that learning mathematics was the training of the mind that led to the discovery of the universal truth.

What is in the high mind is not like ordinary facts.

What is in the mind of a higher level is not like ordinary facts.

He said that man is the halfway thing between the fallen gods. Humans can have a civilization that can develop their minds to a higher level.

This mental development is the purification of the mind, the eating of vegetables and the simple living.

They say numbers are the most important. Numbers are the basis of all things.

They say numbers are the most important. Numbers are the basis of all things.

This universe has opposites. Opposites contradict each other, such as

1. Limited - Unlimited

2. Odd number - Even number

3. One-lot

4. Straight - Crooked

5. Light-Dark

6. Right - Left

7. Male-Female

8. Stop-moving

9. Good-Evil

10. Leem – Round

The Earth and the other objects of this solar universe revolve around a great fire. That great fire is the center of all things.

I know the article is about Philosophy in English(?)– not an English lesson, but I find the first sentence troublesome. That is followed by confusing ‘Tenses’ switching. I feel like I am following a car that keeps changing lanes without good excuses. Does the driver knows the road’s rules?
