ตามปกติใช้ “carry” และ “take” เพื่อกล่าวว่า

บางคน “เคลื่อนย้าย” บุคคล/สิ่งของ จากที่หนึ่งไปยังอีกที่หนึ่ง

เมื่อใช้ “carry” เป็นการ แสดงว่า สิ่งนั้น ค่อนข้างมีน้ำหนัก เช่น

‘He picked up his suitcase and carried it into the room.’

‘My father carried us on his shoulders.’

‘She gave me some books to take home.’

ยังสามารถกล่าวได้ว่า

“’a ship/train/lorry (truck)’ is carrying” สินค้า เฉพาะชนิดหนึ่ง

เช่นเดียวกัน ยังสามารถกล่าวได้ว่า

“‘a plane/ship/train/หรือ bus’ is carrying passengers.” เช่น

‘We passed tankers carrying crude oil.’

‘The aircraft was carrying 145 passengers and crew.’

สามารถใช้ “take” ในทำนองเดียวกัน

เพียงแต่เมื่อ ระบุว่า จะ “take” บางคน/สิ่ง นั้นไปยังที่ใด

แต่ไม่อาจใช้ว่า “The ship was taking crude oil.” เช่น
