Cyclone Marcia (มาชา) was a category 5 cyclone off QLD coast, moved in land at Yeppoon and travelled across Rockhampton, turned South down to Gladestone and on to Gympie and Sunshine coast, expected to go through to Brisbane and Gold Coast with strong winds and heavy rains all the way. The cyclone alert came on Friday 20 February (this year). And we were on Marcia's path. We went about preparing for the arrival of Marcia. We also took some pictures to later compare the 'before and after' impact of Marcia. Well Marcia weakened after landfall from category 5 to category 1 when it got to our area and somehow veered off our place. Thus spared us from 'direct hit'.
So, I like to share the 'before' pictures and to show that we are happy not to have 'after' pictures to compare ;-)
These are pictures around our house. We took 360 degree turns around the house and went down to some of our favorite places. (More pictures to come.)

We live among trees like our ancestral folks before us. We just don't see green enough in cities. Trees are capturing C02 and relasing O2. Trees are the greatest garbage recycler ;-)

We only got a scratch by Marcia. We had some 100 kph winds and some 170 mm of rains. Some broken and fallen branches, sections of driveway washed out, (wet ground caused) a few dead trees to be uprooted and blown down. No significant damage in area around the house. By the way, around the house is not Nature! We do modify our living area a bit so we are safe from bushfires, floods, humans, ... ;-)
I have some 100 acres of real natural bushland --unmodified by us-- for wildlife and natural evolution. I will share some pictures soon.
