SUPERVISION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TNSTRUCTIONALCOMPETENCY OF

VOCATIONAL TEACHERS

ABSTRACT

The purposes of this research were : 1) to compare instructional competency of the

teachers by using clinical supervision 2) to investigate the teachers' opinions toward clinical

supervision 3) to investigate the students' opinions toward the instruction of the teachers 4) to

study the students' leaming achievement after the end of the semester 5) to investigate the

administrators' opinions toward the supervision in the colleges. The sample of this study

comprised of 17 teachers and 433 students of the second Ratchaburi Technical College ,

Ratchaburi province.T he experimentarl esearchd esignw as two-groupsp retest-posttesdte sign.

The instruments were : 1) the teachers' instructional Competency test

2 ) instructional observation form for the teachers' instructional competency assessment

3) questionnairesfo r the teacherst oward clinical supervision 4 ) questionnairesfo r the students

toward the instruction of the teachers 5 ) the a&inistrators' interview form. The statistical

analysise mployedw ere percentage( Vo), mean (i ), stanaardd eviation ( S.O.1, t - test and

content analysis.

The resultso f the researchw ere as follow : 1 ) after clinical supervisionw as finished

the teachers' instructional competency were statistically significant different at the .05 level, and

the teachers'i nstructionalc ompetencya fter clinical supervisionw ere increaseda t a much level

2 ) the teachers' opinions toward clinical supervision were at much agree level, and clinical

supervisionc ould improve the teachers'i nstruction,t o develop themselves, to assessmenbt y

using authentica ssessmenat nd to develop the students'a chievement3 ) the students' opinions

towardt he teachersi'n structionw ere at much agreel evel (i :4.1367, S.D. : .57728) 4 ) the

experimental group's leaming achievement scores after the end of the semester were higher than

the control group 5 ) the administrations' opinions perceived that clinical supervision had the

importance and the usefulness toward the teachers because the teachers could expand the

instructionalt o colleazuesa nd the students'a chievemenwt ere increased
