1. Smile, we are on candid camera!

Our kids should be encouraged to smile more and to talk more.

I said "Hello". You said nothing.
Yes, we are strangers to each other.
Ummmh! We have not broken the ice yet ;-).

You don't know what I want. (I don't know what you want.)
You don't know what to say. (I don't know what to say.)

There! Right there! I would say we see the very first barrier stopping us from 'interacting'. (And 'no interaction' means 'no cooperation'.)
We have our fear of getting into something we don't know. We are afraid of getting hurt.
Then, we have another problem. We don't know the protocol for interaction. How should we interact? What should we say or do?
Is (Thai or English) language a problem? Should we use signs? Should We exchange gifts, pictures, words or smiles? ;-)

Remember, when we were kids. We went out and made friends with other kids in the neighbourhood.
We played games. We sang silly songs. We talked and told stories. We laughed with and at each other. We cried together.
Did we ask 'what do you want?'? Were we so shy - we stayed inside our shell all the time?

Remember, our first smiles. When we were young we just smiled to everyone we met.
Something happened on our way. While growing up, we lost our 'easy to smile' habit.
We may have let our fear  control our lives. We are now afraid to 'smile first' or 'smile back'.

Perhaps, we should change our school curriculum. Our kids should be encouraged to smile more and to talk more.
By keeping on smiling we use the most effective and natural means to look beautiful -- without make-ups.
By keeping on talking we use the most effective and natural means to learn and to cooperate -- without fear.
[To prove this: try, smile to people in the street and say something like "it is hot but nice, today" to them.]

We know one day -- the very day, when we meet our last Stranger (or our Maker in some cultures) -- we may need to ;-) smile and say ...
I often remind myself to ;-) smile - we are on :o candid camera!
