การอ่านเพื่อลำดับเหตุการณ์
สาระสำคัญ
การอ่านเพื่อลำดับเหตุการณ์ได้นั้น ผู้อ่านต้องอ่านเนื้อเรื่องอย่างละเอียด เมื่ออ่านแล้วเนื้อเรื่องนั้นแล้ว ต้องสามารถเล่าเรื่องที่อ่านได้อย่างถูกต้อง และสามารถเรียงลำดับเหตุการณ์ในเรื่องที่อ่านได้
จุดประสงค์การเรียนรู้
1. เมื่ออ่านเนื้อเรื่องแล้ว สามารถเล่าเรื่องที่อ่านได้
2. เรียงลำดับเหตุการณ์ของเนื้อเรื่องได้ถูกต้อง
ใบความรู้ที่ 1
การอ่าน Instructions เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตประจำวันที่ผู้เรียนจะพบเห็นได้โดยทั่วไปเช่า บนหีบห่อ กล่อง ซอง กระดาษห่อ หรือกล่องบรรจุของใส่อาหาร ตลอดจนเครื่องมืออุปกรณ์ต่างๆ บางทีอาจบ่งบอกวิธีใช้ เช่น วิธีใช้โทรศัพท์สาธารณะ วิธีใช้หม้อหุงข้าวไฟฟ้า วิธีใช้เครื่องซักผ้า วิธีปรุงบะหมี่สำเร็จรูป ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Instructions แบบใดก็ตาม มีวิธีอ่านดังนี้
- อ่านแล้วรู้จุดมุ่งหมาย หรือจุดประสงค์ทั่วไปของ Instructions นั้นๆ และบอกได้ว่ามีจุดมุ่งหมายอะไร โดยการตอบคำถาม How to ............เช่น
How to use …………………………
How to cook ………………………..
How to operate ………………….
2. อ่านแล้วเข้าใจขั้นตอนได้ชัดเจน โดยวาดมโนภาพตามไปด้วย เช่น การขับรถ (How to drive a car.)
3. อ่านแล้วรู้ลำดับขั้นตอนในการปฏิบัติและปฏิบัติตามได้ โดยสังเกตจากคำเหล่านี้ เช่น first, then, next, until, when etc. การอ่านประเภทนี้ ใช้หลักเกณฑ์การจัดลำดับตามเวลา ดังนั้นคำบอกลำดับเวลาจึงสำคัญเป็นอย่างมาก
4. อ่านทบทวนลำดับขั้นตอนอีกครั้ง เพื่อตรวจสอบความถูกต้องว่าอยู่ในลำดับที่ถูกต้องหรือไม่ ตัวอย่างเช่น How to make a call.
First - Make sure you know the number.
Second - Lift the receive.
Then - Drop the coin.
- Listen for the dialing tone.
Finally - Dial.
เป็นการบอกลำดับเรื่องราวหรือเหตุการณ์นั้นๆเกิดก่อนหลังอย่างไร คำที่อาจพบบ่อยมีดังนี้
first, second, third lately in the beginning
next later for a while
then after a while so
finally afterwards so that
lastly soon so............that
วิธีอ่านสัญญาณจาก Time Sequence ถ้าพบคำว่า first ในข้อความตอนหนึ่งตอนใด นักเรียนจะรู้ได้ทันทีว่าจะต้องมีคำ second หรือ third ตามมา คำเหล่านี้มักใช้อธิบายลำดับขั้นตอน และก่อนจะจบข้อความ มักมีคำ lastly หรือ finally เป็นเครื่องบอกให้ทราบว่ากำลังจะถึงลำดับสุดท้าย อันจะเป็นการลงท้ายหรือสรุปในตัว
Example
There are three reasons why Paul decided to study mechanical engineering. Firstly, he had always enjoyed both maths and physics, and mechanical engineering seemed about the best way to combine the two. Secondry, his father had been an engineer and had always encouraged Paul to do something similar. Lastly, he was sure there would always be a wide variety of jobs available for qualified mechanical engineers.
ในประโยคแรกบ่งบอกให้ทราบว่ามีเหตุผล 3 ประการ (three reasons) และคำว่า firstly, second, lastly เป็นสัญญาณว่ากำลังแจกแจงเหตุผลตามลำดับ
ถ้าเป็นข้อความประเภทเรื่องเล่า มักมีคำจำพวก next, then, afterward, a long timeและ afterหรือมีข้อสัญญาณบอกให้ทราบว่าก่อนหน้านั้นมี เหตุการณ์บางอย่างที่เกิดขึ้น มักใช้คำ lately, recently ขึ้นต้นเพื่อเท้าความถึงเหตุการณ์ที่เพิ่งเกิดขึ้นไม่นาน

and at last the boy stopped digging and got ready to go home .
Soon he would be able to reveal his secret.
คำที่ขีดเส้นใต้ (then another , at last และ soon) คือคำเชื่อมที่บอกลำดับเหตุการณ์ เป็นสัญญาณให้นักเรียนติดตามเรื่องราวได้ถูกต้องว่าสิ่งใดเกิดก่อนหลังตามลำดับ
My trip to Rayong
Last weeked I really enjoy my trip to Rayong with my parents and my sister. We arrived in Rayong at about 8 o’clock. Then we checked in to the Beach Laguna Hotel at around 9 a.m. After that my sister and I ran to the beach right away we played on the beach and swam all morning. My dad had to get us out of the water for lunch. He told us not to stay in the sun too long because we might get sick. But we didn’t believed him. After lunch, we went right back. To the water again. It was about six p.m. that we felt hungry and tired, and had to leave the water. That night we had a high fever and we left for Bangkok the next morning.
