ผมได้รับข้อมูลที่มิตรท่านหนึ่งส่งต่อมาให้   เป็นข้อมูล research university ranking สำหรับประเทศไทย    ที่สถาบัน ISI จัดทำขึ้นจากฐานข้อมูลของเขา    ซึ่งหมายความว่า ใช้เกณฑ์ของเขา   ซึ่งแน่นอนว่า คงจะไม่สมบูรณ์    และคงจะมีคนหลายคนไม่เห็นด้วยกับเกณฑ์ของเขานัก

               My quick responses (without further verifications) to the attached file done by Dr Mongkon (CMU) are below;
 
               The data collected from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2008 are too few to make a conclusion. Greater time span must be needed. [In some years, new doctoral researchers have their papers from their PhD thesis (with Thai affiliations). I have found a few in KMUTT.
               There are a number of articles published in journals outside ISI. If one really needs to find the research strength the articles from other reliable data bases (such as Scopus or PubMed) must also be considered.
               100 research subject areas are too many. I believe that many papers have authorships from different disciplines.
               According to the total number, there are a number of articles being counted more than 1 hit. [Duplications!!]
               I believe that the ranking will change or be more accurate if the article counting was considered by taking account of the authorship contribution (%) and/or the corresponding affiliation.
               I feel good to see someone (more) having an interest on this sort of things.

          เอามาเผยแพร่เพื่อให้เราทำความเข้าใจความเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัย   และความเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยระดับโลกกันมากขึ้น   ประเทศไทยมีทรัพยากรจำกัด   ไม่สามารถสนับสนุนให้ทุกมหาวิทยาลัย (เวลานี้มีมากกว่า ๒๐๐ สถาบัน) เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยระดับโลกได้   ต้องเลือกสนับสนุนเฉพาะมหาวิทยาลัยที่ประเทศใส่เงินลงไปแล้วได้ผลตอบแทนสูง เท่านั้น   และเราต้องการเพียงไม่เกิน ๑๐ มหาวิทยาลัย
