On the genius of คุณพุ่มไม้ (this cracked me up! :-) & Co., one of their Iraq war "innovations" was to privatize military - to contract out jobs that would have been done by career combat men to a company named "Blackwater" which inturn hired retired combat men to do the job at a higher cost and arguably poor service.

This controversy now landed the company's head on the congressional hearing to defend their employees;

"Erik Prince, the founder and chief executive of Blackwater, insisted that his employees were responding to hostile fire in a controversial Sept. 16 shootout that left at least eight Iraqis dead, a contention that has been vehemently disputed by witnesses and by the Iraqi government.

And Mr. Prince disputed findings released on Monday by the majority staff of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which portrayed Blackwater security guards as often out of control and indifferent to civilian casualties. "

For all we know now, Blackwater USA is one of major donors to the Republican party.  The US defense budget is sky-high - part of the budget has gone to these contractors - remember - this is a for-profit company - USA.COM vs USA.GOV/MIL.
