I happened to read the same Computerworld article “Making IT Work for Women” as mentioned in (บันทึก: Girl Power in Thai IT) <p>I’d like to generalize from the article that there are two syndromes in US based IT world;</p><ul>
</ul><p>Most working women in America share problems in (1) keeping househouse and (2) raising children. They have a tougher time, compared to working women in Thailand, to have these two womenly/motherly job accomplished as (1) help is harder to find (geographically speaking), (2) help costs a bit more (economically speaking).</p><p>In sum, Thai IT girls, compared to their American counterparts, might have been given more opportunity without them knowing it. It's all up to them if they want to grab it or not. </p><p>However, this “opportunity” thing, is not a girl or a guy thing - it’s genderless. It could be a “gut” i.e. courage to do things, and a lot of things.. </p>
