From the title I misread for some write-up about immigrants who after 50+ years of living, raising family in a country, still call where they were born ‘home’. Thailand have immigrants like those too.

Anyway, I think evolution is based on ‘selection of best fit’, and is quite ‘cruel’. All (DNA-based) living things on this Earth want to be ‘best fit’ by any means. They can team up to face other teams. But, when there is only ‘the team’ they go for individual best. This is known as the ‘selfish genes’ – supported by evidence!
