Perhaps, we should talk about ‘type 0 error’ - errors from ‘sampling and collecting data’ before these statistics, and type 3 error - errors from adjusting data used to make the researchers’ intended result (in plain words, cooking data). These errors are more common than types 1 & 2 and often come from (dishonestly) ‘making the measure the goal of success’.
