My observations about ‘birds flying into glass windows’ (and injure themselves, at times fatally) point to “the bird sees a reflection of the sky” on the glass pane at a certain angle instead of a barrier and the bird realizes too late to avoid collision.

I have had 5 glass windows broken and now all windows have colour blinds or curtains or large enough stickers to stop further needless bird injury.
