I read and was reminded of a time long ago when I looked at ‘machine learning’. I looked at various ways to ‘make machines learn (and apply/adapt what they have learned’). The machines then were ‘dump computers’ with limited capabilities for i/o and memory. The same thinking is happening here in ‘children learning’. I do not see reference to ‘children’ and/or their parents. Are the children just ‘dump machines’? To be manipulated by ‘algorithms’? To learn with limited i/o and memory (by their trainers)?

We hear of one side effect of machine learning (by algorithm) that machines can learn to do something and do that well but nobody (including the machines themselves) can explain ‘how’ and ‘why’ they do ‘what’ (sequence of machine instructions) they do.

Let us hope our children can do better than machines.
