Very insightful!
To those who think ‘language’ (especially ‘other’ languages) is difficult. I’d say think again of the benefits, of the personal achievement, of the ‘family skill and status’ ( the long term benefits that can flow on for many generations). The other language(s) we learn today can be a ‘family heir loom’ passed on to our children and their children. They will have much easier time with our seemingly difficult learning.
And from my own experience, once we are multi-lingual, we can appreciate other people’s points of view better. We can learn more languages easier. We can learn other disciplines (Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Design and Technology) easier.
What more can we ask from learning another language?
