I am reminded of a book by Thomas Friedman (The Lexus and the Olive Tree) in which he praises capitalism (in the guise of ‘shareholders’ (under his term ‘electronic herd’). Thailand can still remember the Financial crisis (ต้มยำกุ้ง) and George Zoros. That book highlights the evil of capitalism in self-interest modes.

The book says “Damn the people, but save a few bucks!”
