There are (once again) strong similarities between 'modern methodologies' and the age-old principle of Buddhism. Comparisn of (the principle of) 'arya-sacca 4' (define THE problem/goal, list FACTORS for THE problem/goal, choose & describe ONE solution, learn WAYS to achieve solution/goal) and what listed in this post, would show once again that we can practice what we have learned and know so well. We don't really have to learn and memorisze 'new/modern' methodologies. Just 'practice' arya-sacca (noble true-principle).
