I think the use of "co" to mean "another part(ner)" in something, should be stressed by writing "co-" (with a hyphen) so that it is not misread and misunderstood. In many other words (co-operation, co-author, co-worker,...) writing "co-" (reading "ko" and pause a little) makes the words much clearer.
