I hear people say 'my/our team/company/office/country/.../side' and call themselves 'we'. The opposition/other/... is always 'they' (or 'them' in some cases). (go see a war movie ;-)
At work we hear about 'we;ll do what they want'; 'we' here are team-mates, 'they' here means 'higher management'.
In salespersons meeting: 'we' would be one or more salespersons; and 'they' would be either their customers or their bosses ;-)
