Thank you ยายธี : We know (have been taught) that เกาะ reads กอะ (we have a vowel pair ออะ ออ - by sound) but we write เอาะ not what 'I think' consistently with other vowel pairs (โอะ โอ เออะ เออ...). Don't you find this 'odd'?

I had fun experiment with (or say and listen to) very short เกาะ normal length เกา and long กาว ;-)
