Yes exactly, we (Thais and people in old worlds) have been doinf right things with our land and farming until we jumped om the Western band wagon (and use chemicals --fertilizers and x-idides (poisons) on our land and our world. We dod not only abandon the ever-lasting way of life but also destroying 'the bridges' behind (so that we cannot go back without rebuilding the bridges first).

Micro-organism ecosystem may be the most important bridge we need to renuild first. So that our more visible things (trees, rivers, mountains,...) can thrive on.

Let us look at buffalo dung in the old way again.
