I have a friend who has been a professional in the trade of ปั้นน้ำเป็นตัว (for sale) for some 40 years. He is now working to put a brand on his 'ice' to differentiate it from competitors' ice made in 'modern processes'.

I recalled a movie with Harrison Ford as a man who took his family to Ivory Coast and to settle in with a goal to make ice for sale there. He carted a bloch of ice some distance from the coast to a hinterland where his customers might be... interesting ending -- I won't tell you. The movie was not great but it tells story of the spirit of man and his view on how the world should be --anywhere--.
