May I remind you of my stand on "Stop killing mother fish!".

Fishing ban for this 2016 spawning season is about to begin for the Gulf of Thailand. It is aimed at rebuilding fish stock for Thailand. (I also like the idea of "not killing -- เมตตา กรุณา".) So far the fishing ban does not work because (Department of Fishery say) of inadequate resorces (including equipment) for enforcement and the penalties for breach are too low (a fine of 100K baht compared to 10M baht of fish) for big fishing operators. (Only poor fishermen with poor boats and poor families to feed get caught and severelt punished.)

Let us help mother fish to successfully spawn this season.

We would have more ปลาทู to greet our dinner plates in May. ปลาทู with roes now --- yucky!
