A library (with building, seats, books, and good learning atmosphere) is a conductor for learning. But libraries like that have been built up and burned down with books for over 2,000 years, even in some countries in recent times.

We are facing new learning environment, new media of knowledge and new demand for information. No longer is 'reading' the prime focus of learning. But knowing and applying information is very much what needed to succeed in modern times. To this end we will need modern library services. We need libraries that can help with information not just books and reading. We need verification of materials, their uptodate-ness, reliability, context, and so on.

Let us dream a future of libraries before they die out because libraries do not serve needs.
