H.E. Dr. Im Koch, Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) of Cambodia,

H.E. Ms. Eat Sophea, the Cambodian Ambassador,

Distinguished guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have two roles to play.

First, I am an alumnus of Debsirin School. H.E. the Privy Councilor is also a member of Debsirin School Alumni Association. He is my classmate.

Another role is that the School under the leadership of Director Mongkol and his staffs has asked me as the Secretary-General of Foundation for International Human Resource Development (FIHRD) to help him organize this ASEAN Debsirin Knowledge Camp the first time in the high school level. As you know, as any initiatives lead by able and capable Director Mongkol to take a really important step to organize such an important ASEAN youth camp at the high school level, I thought that it was really important because Debsirin as the whole system has 10 schools. We have been conducting Knowledge Camping for the past 16 years locally among them. It has been already organized for 13 times.

As we are entering ASEAN Community 2015 the end of this year, the timing for organizing such an event at high school level is already available. I think my job is really easy because I have really capable team led by Director Mongkol and distinguished alumni group under Dr. Pongsak Kanluan, Mr. Krit Sinudom and Dr. Boonkue Tangsritrakul tirelessly set up this workshop.

People ask so many questions why Thailand at high school level can organize such an important international project. I can say that because the team has been preparing this project for 6 months. For example, in the nine school representatives from Debsirin, each one of them has language communication training. We are going to speak English on all subjects. Fortunately, we have good cooperation from 5 countries, like Cambodia. We have 14 delegates from Indonesian high school. We already have ASEAN+1 because we have delegates from China. We also have representative from Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.

Therefore, my job is very easy. We not only teach them physics and chemistry. We want them to exchange ideas on the future of ASEAN where human capitals have to work together with different cultural diversity. Those who are guests of Thailand can learn more about Thailand. We are honor to take them to Siriraj Hospital to pay respect to His Majesty the King of Thailand. They will go to the Grand Palace and different cultural diversity of Thailand.

On our 5 days altogether, our jobs are very easy because we let them choose subjects of their interest. Some are energy, environment, technology and culture. We combine them in 8 groups of students. Then, they come to start the project. We want to work together in the future. This project is long term. After they leave Thailand, they are going to set up the networking among themselves so that when they go to the university, they can keep friendship of each other. When they leave university, they become working population in ASEAN. Together, they can form a community.

In conclusion, I would like to thank The Privy Councilor, H.E. Emeritus Professor Atthaniti Disatha-Amnarj, H.E. Dr. Im Koch, Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) of Cambodia, and H.E. Ms. Eat Sophea, the Cambodian Ambassador who are kind enough to come to this project. We will guarantee the sharing of knowledge. These students will explore good future cooperation in many projects and work together to move ASEAN to prosperity in the future. This project will be the benchmark of the world model for the future cooperation.

Thank you very much.
