Two points:

1) learning by doing (or sensing and experiencing) things in real life (in comparison to book-work or thinking or reasoning theoretically) is quite good for brain development;

2) special training can be beneficial (eg. music lessons, sport training, toast masters, etc.). We should not dismiss extra classes without considering their pros and cons on individual cases. As for general after-school after-class extra learning (as prevailent in Thailand now), this is a sad story of Thailand's education systems, one that need reforming urgently.

Let us develop an environment and programs for children to learn 'for life'.
