I was sharing a room with other 3 patients (in a public ward) and got to witness a doctor used louder voice to re-explain the need for complete chemical drug treatment to an elderly woman (patient). I had talked to her. She was not deaf but English was not her main language. It didn't help to use any volume to communicate in this case. But understanding and patience in calm re-assuring voice would do a lot better.

The doctor could only see his treatment but he didn't see his patient -- not at all.
