So พาหุรัด is a well established word with clear meaning.

 confirms the birth and the death of a princess known as ฟ้าหญิงพาหุรัด and many documents supporting the construction and naming of ถนนพาหุรัด

4) the fact that ถนนพาหุรัด joins บ้านหม้อ (บริเวณกำหนดที่อาศัยช่างปั้นหม้อมอญ) lends support to พาหุรัด being an Indian traders area but we will need to establish where and how those Indians come to be in that area. Were they "brahmins" (in service of Siam Court) or just traders (like they are today) or taken from Tavoy(?) like the Mon were (the Mon were craftsmen essential for re-building Siam, but the Indians seem to be traders like Arabs and Persians (on the "right" ports) and Chinese (on the "left" ports)... Brahmins would be well respected (and possibly well rewarded), they would have more influences in naming their area and should have chosen a better Sanskrit word.

5) Elision and/or corruption of word ภาระตะ to พาหุรัด seems weak evidence in presence of other more rigorous evidence that พาหุรัด has been a reasonbly well-known and old (as old as at least สงกรานค์) word.

We should be confident to give strong support to etymology with strong evidence first and support etymology with risky evidence only when it would serve us better ;-).
