It seems that we need a lot of professional training and awareness of good professional techniques.
Some 3 years ago, at a rural hospital in Thailand, I had my vein over-punctured, under-punctured and scratched and just-right punctured for a single blood sample. (Ouch, Ouch and easy please! My vein leaked and my fore-arm had 5x12 cm black-and-blue area for a few days.) The hospital was busy with some 400+ outpatients that day, but there, lack of training or failure of quality testing showed.
I trust the good intention but I worry about the practice ;-)
