I talked to a young friend who is learning to drive a car.
She is learning the road rules(book) and doing some simple manoeuvres practice.
She said rules can be remembered in a few hours.
But each simple manoeuvre takes many days to master.

I reflected on her remarks and compared that to Thailand's school education (especially, learning English). We spend too much time memorizing rules (lessons) and not enough doing the rules --that's why we don't use English well.
