Aint wearing coloured glasses a kind of denial?

The world can look more beautiful when we filter out the unpleasant. (Like in London during the Olymics, the moved all "homeless" out to holliday in small rural hamlets, away from visitors' eyes.)

But would the world be any better? Only in our blided eyes?

I do think this is not really anything different from "building a mansion with high wall to close out the slums around" "when we step out of the enclosure, we will always see the truth".

Would it not be better to spend time and efforts in improving the world outside, so that we do not have to live in ivory tower but anywhere in the our world? Too difficult? Yes, it is! But the more difficult, the more challenging is it not?

I am a learner. As a learner I want the truth no matter how ugly it is. ;-)
