I wonder if 'dana' (ทาน, ให้) or 'nidaana' (นิทาน) in Pali should 'more accurately' be ดะนะ (as in ดนุ/ทนุ~บำรุง).

We have a curious situation in Thai, the word 'บาล' (in Pali 'paala' means 'protect / guard') and the word 'พาล' (in Pali 'baala' means 'rogue / criminal') are really very different when 'spoken' in Thai and 'spoken in 'Pali' where they come from.

I can't think of an example with the letter 'ฎ'. One curious thing is Thai alphabet has a root in Buddhist Text (Pali) written in devagari script -- without this 'ฎ'--, so there must be Thai reasons for 'inventing ฎ' but what are Thai words with ฎ?

We use ฎ to write some 'Hindi' words eg. ชฎา [chada: (in cpds.) anything that covers; a veil. (m.)]. Can anyone tell us of other Thai words that spell with ฎ?
