I had a talk with a traditional medicine 'buff'. We got to talk about blood chemistry and blood pH. There are theories about blood pH: -- our body operates with blood pH 7.35-7.45, ---- higher >7.45 (more alkalide) makes us more sensitive, but calm and meditative; ---- lower <7.35 (less alkalide) makes us restless, nervous and stressful -- what we eat can affect our blood pH ---- most fruits and vegetables increase blood pH (more alkalide) (lemons, pineapples and water melons are alkalide-increasers) ---- most cereals and grains, meat and animal products and processed/ready-to-eat food lower blood pH (sweeteners/artificial sugars, meats, coffee, fizzy soft drinks (like 'cola'), smoking cigarettes are acid makers) -- body has many systems that keep bloof pH in a narrow range, outside that range body can suffer even die. (So, usually it is difficult to vary blood pH by any significant value.) ... (please search "blood pH")

We are not medical doctors nor we are qualified in any public health areas ;-) But it seems that certain diets may be worth a try in your case. A gift of a watermelon or a pineapple or an orange may be well received.
