I heard from someone a dhutanga bhikkhu in Thailand is travelling on a 4-wheel bike -- ATV (all terrain vehicle). I hope there are good reason reasons not to do it on foot. I don't know if dhutanga may be done on horse/elephant back; with 4-wheel drive vehicles in caravan or hitch-hiking along the road, etc.

I wonder if carrying a knife (even a Swiss army knife) is in compliance with the Vinaya. Can anyone tell?
