Dear ทิมดาบ

Yes, there are many more people, other than I, who are not happy with the way 'education' is promoted and run.

The "15,000 baht base-salary for a degree" is one BIG BAD policy in terms of giving institutional education more advantages over other forms of learning and performing (for excellence).

We can see what happened in the past (10-15 years ago) when graduates drove buses or collected fares on buses because of lack of demand for graduates but strong demand for workers who were willing to work long hours in tedious and monotonous jobs. Many jobs are not taught but learned by practicing and observing finer details. (university education is about 'logical deduction/inference' -- only one of many pathways to excellence.)

It is this 'promotion of one education pathway' (out of many efficient pathways) that I believe should be corrected. We should be able to explore and follow any learning pathway that best suited our circumstances and preferences.

Street sweepers should be granted reward for excellence in cleaning and maintaining our local environment. Street food vendors would be rewarded for excellence by their customers. Public servants should be rewarded by their work performance. ...
