This is how our lives had changed:

we put mixed wild seeds and water out for wild birds in the morning; birds: finches, king parrots, lorikeets, doves, choughs(a kind of crows) and etc came for freebies;birds dropped and spread seeds about; cockroaches, little mice, big rats and (native) bandicoots and possums came too - at night; green frogs and toads came the party of insects at night; snakes came in for frog and rat meals at night; dogs came to catch or kill snakes and made a lot of noises at night; neighbors came in to chat and complain about vermin and odd noises; ...

Sigh! A drop of honey is not a fairy tale ;-)
