I may have heard 'wrong about' the Ministry of Interior.

The romanized 'Place names' (localities and street names) may come from various authorities.

But my point is there is (or should be) an 'official authority' that prescribes romanized Thai names.

This office can set a 'national standard' for romanization.

If such authority does not exist, then we should push for one, even as a non-government organization (NGO) such as an institute for internationalization of Thai languages.

Your points are valid and of course should be resolved in standardization.

The Thai style of pronunciation and spelling of Pali words is also a matter for resolution.

(For example buddha [พุทธ], daana [ทาน],...).

BTW, I mistyped 'yours' as 'tours' in
