Growth forecast maintained at 4.5%

The Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) will maintain its 2011 economic growth projection unchanged at 4.5% as the economy continues to grow, FPO director-general Naris Chaiyasut said on Wednesday.

The expansion was fueled by both domestic and overseas demands, particularly private sector consumption which is increasing, said Mr Naris.

Exports of goods and services continued to expand on the back of economic recovery in countries that are Thailand’s trade partners, he added.

The FPO chief projected inflation of 3.8%, in line with rising global oil prices, while unemployment would stay at a low level of 0.9% of the total workforce

การส่งออกสินค้าและบริการยังคงขยายตัวที่ด้านหลังของการฟื้นตัวของเศรษฐกิจในประเทศที่มีประเทศคู่ค้าเขาเพิ่ม

หัวหน้า สศค. คาดว่าอัตราเงินเฟ้อ 3.8% ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับการเพิ่มขึ้นของราคาน้ำมันทั่วโลกในขณะการว่างงานจะอยู่ในระดับต่ำจาก 0.9% ของพนักงานทั้งหมด
