We are feeding their 'corruption habit' and we feel that we are doing the right thing to get things done.
Government officials are paid to do their jobs. They receive allowances to work outsides. The receive 'health care', education supports, housing supports, ... They receive pensions at end of their career.
What about people in the street? Many of them work more than 10 hours a day 7 days a week -- no paid holidays. They have pay for their health care, their education, the roof over their head and when they are 'old' they still have to work because they have no pensions.
Many government officials are just leaching off the lives of ordinary (other people). They swear to do their job 'honestly'. And they fail to do their job 'honestly'. Why should we keep paying salary and 'lubrication oil'?
Corruption is a national disease -- worse than diarrheas, corruption sucks the blood from the wounded!
