Self or Environment?

Perhaps there are levels of importance depending on situation and time.

For examples:

when nature calls for (toilet) relief, we just have to answer the call; or

when life is threatened, we just have to flee; but

when someone is in danger, we may wait to see that helping does not put ourselves in danger too; or

when we act on 'something', we see some (greater) returns in the future; ...

It is not that clear-cut (in black and white) what we should do.

You, I, all of us are much the same, we make decisions based on what we know and believe.

And somrtimes our actions look very selfish and at times not -- depending on what other people know or believe ;-)
